Halloween Part II

The holiday is becoming more popular here in Australia. We decided to go with store bought costumes this year- best decision ever! Due to how busy we were in Sept & Oct. MA was Dorothy from Wizard of OZ, DB picked Batman, & EL went with the light up witch costume.
The local shops had a trick or treat afternoon. It was quite fun and EL had a blast going from shop to shop collecting her treats.

On Oct 31st, we went trick or treating at a couple friends houses.

Then the following Saturday, our neighborhood had a big party and that is when the most trick or treating happened. The kids had a blast and loved sharing it with their friends from school that don't live in our neighborhood. I would guess there were about 50 kids in all!
We all met in front of our house and went as a group to each house.  Saying Trick or Treat in unison. One house gave out home made cupcakes. And most of the kids ate their lollies as they got them. It was definitely Trick or Treating Aussie style!

After the lollies were handed out, everyone headed up to the end of the street for a party. Damien and his crew had set up tons of decorations. A graveyard, glow in the dark skeleton in a Ute and fog machines. It was a great time. We even won the scare crow competition with a Captain America scare crow. He was stuffed with sugar cane mulch not straw. It was a memorable night in the 'hood!

Halloween Prep Work

Getting ready for Halloween. Painting mini pumpkins. Carving a watermelon because there were no big pumpkins to be found this year. Making a scare crow. Fun holiday prep work.

Beach time

We got right back into the swing of things after our trip. Nippers Sunday morning. Grandma was excited to see the kids in action at Nippers and spend the day at the beach.
MA getting ready to run a test course.

DB's turn on the course

 How funny are these people?!
