  DB's teacher for the last 2 years is headed to a new school after she takes a well deserved holiday to the USA. She is running the NYC marathon then checking out the USA. She was MA's teacher when we moved here too. She is a wonderful teacher and friend. I know she has made the kids' transition here much easier and she will be greatly missed. We wish her all the best! The class got her a Magnolia tree and a special photo album as a going away gift.

Bowls Club

  The local bowls club had a family night. We stopped by after DB's birthday party. There was face painting, a magician, and kids everywhere.

Soccer Party

Bubs wanted a soccer party at the park. Low key & not too complicated. A small group of friends, a couple games of soccer and cake. I think everyone had a good time and slept well that night. The party bags were water bottles filled with a soccer bouncy ball, soccer tattoos, a soccer pencil, a whistle, and some lollies.

Cake assembly and decorating with Heidi's help. Need to work on my transportation methods. It was so nice and straight when we left. Slightly lopsided when we got there.

DB is 7!

  Our Bubs is 7! He is into Minecraft, Lego, remote controlled vehicles, & science experiments. He is getting good at making MA & EL crazy too. He and EL have a real love/ hate relationship. It changes about every 5 mins or so.
  We had tennis lessons on his birthday followed by a quick dinner and cake before Matt had to leave for Perth. DB got a couple Lego sets and some new clothes. DB picked a cookie monster instead of a traditional cake. We all enjoyed it! However, hot cookie and wax candles don't work out so well.

Baseball in Australia

  Baseball season has arrived. DB was quite keen to play and a mate from school is playing on the same team. Matt is coaching. Baseball is his sport. When DB put on his uniform- oh my goodness. Too handsome! He looked years older. I think it is a combination of the uniform, longer hair, and more adult teeth. I am looking forward to time at the ballpark.

Father's Day 2014

  Matt got to attend a special Father's Day at Kindy with EL. They read a story, sang songs, & had morning tea. EL made a special tie for him as well. She also picked out an insulated cooler bag to give to Matt.

  MA & DB did the usual school stall shopping. Matt ended up with a picture frame from DB. DB can't wait to put a photo of himself and Matt in it from baseball. MA picked out a pen & beer opener. Both kids got him stress balls. We, as a fam, got Matt a couple new shirts.
  We went to the Grand Final Rugby game game for a friend. The kids loved watching the big boys play. Matt got right into it too!

  We finished the night off with a BBQ next door to celebrate Damian's birthday, Father's Day, & the big Rugby win. Damian made a great speech and it was nice to spend the evening amongst friends.

Soccer Season Wrap Up

  Sept was the end of the soccer season. EL finished up Squirts. DB with the U7 team and MA with the U8 team. I managed to coach all 3 teams and again had a great set of kids and parents.
  EL had a dress up day her last session. She had her outfit picked out and ready to go way in advance. Over the top girlie for her!
  DB's team finished the season strong. I really noticed his ball control improve and he was always full of enthusiasm.
  MA's team had a great season. Only losing a handful of games. She learned to play strong against mostly boys and generally preferred defense out on the pitch. Her ball skills improved and I loved seeing her out there!
  So proud of them all for giving it their best all season long!
