Family Time Hutcharoo Style

We are a busy family. Lots of times that means I go one way with a child or two. Dad the other with a kid or two. So when we can all attend a game together it is a special treat. It is good for the kids to go and cheers their siblings on. Saturday mornings have been filled with basketball games for DB. EL has soccer in the afternoon. DB had a great 1st season playing basketball. His coaches were great and he learned a lot. EL had fun playing indoor soccer with her teammates. One game she took a ball off her face from a close distance. The result was stitch marks on her cheek. Touch cookie that girl is!  We ended the night with going out to dinner, just the 5 of us.

A Village Christmas

While the Christmas decorating continued at home, we took a small break to head up to the Square for a town Christmas festivities. DB opted to play out in the snow. The girls, Grandma, and I had a fun afternoon. Snow falling it was the perfect setting! Notice Papa working on fixing a strand of lights.

Christmas Tree Shopping

Finding just the right tree takes time and lots of looking. We generally have to look at every tree on the lot. This year, we pulled up, saw a great tree directly in front of the car. Then we had to check every other tree out. You can guess which one we got. Sometimes the 1st one you see really is the best!

The tree came to the house but we got some snow and ice before it was ready to be put in the stand. So once it was inside and thawing, we had water everywhere. It was really fun trying to dry it out and not let the wood floors get damaged. There were lots of hands on deck for decorating once Grandma got the lights on. That is her speciality. She has a method, we all just stay out of the way.
