EL did tennis with her friend. And she had a blast! Ever the social butterfly, she chatted as much as she could.
The next week EL & DB both spent the days at tennis camp. It was a full day, 9-3. Both had a good time, learned some new things and had fun with their friends. Success!

Traveling Man
Matt got the opportunity to do some traveling for work in July. Mackay (pronounced Ma-k-eye) & Perth were his stops. Mackay is a in Northern Queensland, Perth is in Western Australia. While in Perth, he always has to visit Little Creatures Brewery.
Date Night
Matt and I escaped for a few hours. Drinks along the river at one of our favorite bars. Dinner overlooking the river, all lit up. So nice to have a chance to get out, just the 2 of us and enjoy a meal and adult conversation. Clearly, we need to get out more.
Hello Costco
Oh how I have missed you. We belonged when we lived in the WA. Then we moved to IL- no Costco in the area. They started to build one, we moved before it was completed. So when I heard one was coming our direction- I was a happy camper! My friend, Janet, and I ventured up there shortly after it opened. And it was amazing how a store could make you feel like you are back 'home.' American products not normally found here- hello A&W root beer, Dr. Pepper, Cherry Coke, & Ruffles. And most things were well priced. I am of the mind I would rather buy 20 rolls of paper towels at once instead of 1 roll a week every week. And the random stuff never fails to excite me. I got patterned duct tape, which i hadn't found anywhere else here. Perfect for covering clipboards for school. And you know on the way out I got a fountain soda. Less than $2 for the equivalent of a McD's large here. At McD's it would have been over $3.50
We also discovered some great dinner rolls that freeze well, the best Caesar salad kits, and the take & bake pizza was a hit too!
The next time I went back, Matt and the kids were with me. The kids loved all the sample food and we discovered they carry New Zealand Natural Ice Cream- our favorite!

Sporty Kids
June was a big sports month at school. The kids participated in the Adidas (which is pronounced differently here: Ah-de-daus) Fun Run. It raised money for new sports equipment for the school.
Then there was the annual Sports Day. DB had a busy morning with javelin, long jump, high jump, & a few other activities thrown in the mix. I think it might be one of his favorite days of the school year!
MA's sports day was a full day. The weather wasn't the typical sunny Aussie day. Cool, cloudy with a few rain showers mixed in. But the kids kept going. MA did several running races. It was great to see all the kids having a good time and cheering each other on.
