Christmas Eve

We wanted to spend Christmas at our house. Logistically, it just made sense. Everyone in their own beds, enjoying the comforts of home for this magic night. Before we drove home we stopped at the Surf Club for a drink. Santa happened to be there too. Lucky us! He chatted with the kids and made sure to tell each one to go to bed early that night. Parents everywhere appreciated that!

A quick walk down to the beach for some sibling pics.
Once we got home we had dinner and decided to go see some of the Christmas lights around town. There is a big competition every year and entire neighborhoods go all out. We went to 2 different spots. It was amazing to see all the light and all the people. We parked the car and walked up and down the street. Some houses had music, one even got volunteers from the crowd and did the Aussie version of the 12 days of Christmas.

After we got back home the kids started to hang their stocking when they noticed something had been left for them. Santa had been there, leaving gifts and a note. We read The Night Before Christmas, The Twelve Days of Christmas, and The Polar Express and tucked everyone into bed.
