After months of planning and preparing it was moving day. Sorting what needed to go in luggage, by air, and by sea, never easy! Summer in Aus, Winter in the USA. We had a week between our house being packed up and us actually departing AUS. What would we need clothes and sports wise once we got back to IL? What could we live without until we had our own home again? Stuff is going to get mixed up, things go to storage that you wanted in the air shipment or vice versa. You just have to go with it. I tried to make piles and labeled just about everything to make it less stressful for myself and for the packer. Matt's shoes went to storage, they shouldn't have. He had a pair of flips and a pair of really old and uncomfortable dress shoes.
This was my junk, find a new home for it, randomness pile
I was sitting on the floor, where our kitchen table use to be, watching the last box be taped and loaded. Damo walked in to say hello and give me a hug. It was just what I needed. Damo and Heidi were neighbors that were more family than friends.
Our last week, we spent in a very nice furnished apt. Lots of good eats within walking distance. A bakery and our favorite hot chocolate less than a minute walk. Watching the sun set over the city. We made the most of our Aussie days.
And a bottle shop across the parking lot for when you see friends walking down the street and yell for them to come over!
