MA got sick & of course that day was Sports Day and the Italian Festival. Boo! But lucky for her, it rained that day and Sports day was postponed for a week. MA's teacher had sent a note home the day before the original Sports day saying MA needed to wear a purple polo. She would be part of the Purple Thunderbolts team. Of course we didn't have a purple polo. The uniform shop isn't super convenient & none of the local shops had any in stock either. An added bonus of postponing Sports day was it gave me a week to get one instead of hauling all the kids with me first thing in the morning.
The families are invited to stay and watch and cheer. The younger ones really liked that! MA earned a ribbon for the running race and got a thunderbolt painted on her face (she isn't a fan of face painting for some reason) for her team. The events they did were: javelin, high jump, long jump, running race, & tunnel ball. Tunnel ball is when you pass the ball between your legs to the other team members and them over your head, relay style. MA hit me up for a slushy as they headed to lunch and I couldn't say no!
Javelin throwing? That's cool...couldn't do that in the states at her age!
