We can call it a successful trip now that we have seen the smoke stacks of Springfield. We spent Sunday there and watched Kat play softball. It was a summer rite of passage for us the last few years. The stacks have nothing to do with softball at all. Just that visual reminder of where we were. It was a hot and dusty day at the ball fields. My nose was pink by the end of the day. Pinker then it gets when I am living in AUS. Guess I am more diligent about hats and sunscreen there. We had Arby's for lunch. Curly fries! The kids played cards with some friends. My mom taught them War.
Once we got home the kids convinced K&K to go outside and and do some batting practice with them. I had to jump out of the way several times to avoid a line drive. After not seeing or playing softball for a year it was nice to see them show some interest and pick up where they left off.
Dad cooked some delicious chicken when we got home. Unfortunately it was Sunday night and DQ closes at 9pm. Guess I will have to wait another day for my Blizzard fix. The kids were still wide awake playing Go Fish with Grandma at 8:45pm.
I went to send Nicole a text and started to calculate what time it was for her before I realized we were on the same time and day.
Root beer. Can't get it in Australia at the store. I can by it by the can from one store for about $3 a can. Walgreens has a special this week three 12packs for $10.
We also had some goldfish and graham crackers for snacks today. And the kids each had a ring pop.
The kids and Matt slept thru the night last night. I only made it until 2:30am (5:30pm Brisbane time) My body thought it had had a nice long nap.
