Back in Dec, I committed to doing my 1st half marathon. 13.1 miles/ 21km doesn't matter what unit of measurement you use, it's long! After a lot of training, it was time to give it a go. I liked the idea of running in the evening and the course was a fairly flat, 2 lap course. It was a warm afternoon and people were all over the place. A few friends were doing the 10k. The run went well for my 1st time and I was so happy to cross that finish line with my friends and fam cheering me along! I beat my goal by 5 mins (officially finished in 2 hours 25 mins) and I can say I finished my first half marathon. I learned a few things along the way. Refueling before you are exhausted is important, pace yourself from the start, people watching while running is a good and bad thing. It used more energy than you think but it passes the time nicely. Some people are so fast!!
