Fete Time

Saturday was our school's Fete. Like a carnival in the States. They do it every other year here. I volunteered to be the parent rep for DB's class so that meant I was responsible for our class' stall during the Fete. We did sand art necklaces and bracelets and temporary tattoos. I got there early to help set up. Matt ended up staying and helping for a while too. He did my heavy lifting for me and figured out how to start the fryers so they could make hot chips. Then he brought me a large hot chocolate! He had even offered to make me a nice hot breakfast of eggs and toast before I left that morning.
The day went well. The kids had fun. Weather was pleasant. Matt and the kids hung out all day, 12-5. We definitely got our $ worth from the ride bracelets. DB's class did a monkey/ banana song. MA's class did a friendship/ love song. Then the school choir did several songs. It was nice to have the kids perform. The kids had plenty of treats too. Snow cones, fairy floss, hot chips, & poppers. Later in the afternoon, the older classes did the may pole. I can't say I have even actually seen the may pole done before. The kids did a great job even though the wind made it a bit more challenging.
The art teacher also did this amazing project that involved every student at the school. It was fun to try and find the kids by their profile. It was finally time to call it a day. Clean up went quickly & I was ready to head home and sit on the couch. It was an early night for the entire fam.
MA got to wander around with her friends. EL loved the swings & the jumpy castle. DB liked the inflated tunnel.
